Provides Trust in Untrusted Environments – The Lattice SupplyGuard™ service provides customers with factory-locked ICs. These can only be programmed using a configuration bitstream which has been developed, signed and encrypted by the intended customer.

Protection Against IP Theft – The signed, encrypted configuration bitstream can only be loaded onto a factory-locked IC which has been factory-provisioned for that customer bitstream.

Secure Programming with Standard Methods – Standard factory bulk programmers are used to program the encrypted, signed configuration bitstream onto the factory-locked ICs. The secure programming portion occurs fully within the MachXO3D IC. This low cost approach provides high security within today’s high-volume supply chain.

SupplyGuard

Features

  • SupplyGuard™ assigns a unique ordering part number to each customer. The unique part number corresponds to the encryption credentials which lock the Lattice FPGA.
  • Extends Platform root of trust protection to the entire supply chain, from IC manufacture through final product end of life.
  • Protection against overbuilding, cloning, counterfeiting and unauthorized hardware modification.
  • Ability to track devices through the supply chain.
  • No special high security programming equipment, processes or facilities needed: Lowers cost of secure manufacturing.
  • Authentication credentials of external ICs are programmed onto MachXO3D as part of the customer’s encrypted configuration bitstream. This securely transfers cryptographic ownership of the MachXO3D IC and other ICs in the system to the customer during factory programming.
