ModelSim / QuestaSim: simulation error using a node-locked license in a remote desktop connection
Description
The following errors may appear:
# ** License Issue: License request for latticemsim feature failed
# ** License Issue: No such feature exists. (C:\ispLEVER_Classic2_1\license\license.dat)
# ** License Issue: Cannot find license file. (C:\flexlm\license.dat)
# ** Error: Failure to obtain a VHDL simulation license. Unable to checkout 'latticemsim' license feature.
Solution
A floating license is required so that ModelSim will work in a remote desktop connection. To request a license, please raise a Technical Support Case.
If not using a remote desktop connection, create a folder in the error message that indicates "C:\flexlm\license.dat" and paste the license.dat in the folder.
