Platform Manager: How to add a Real Time Clock (RTC) with a Fault Logger for ECP5 using Platform Manager 2?

Description:
This article describes adding Real Time Clock (RTC) with a Fault Logger for ECP5 using Platform Manager 2.

Solution:
The Full-Featured Fault Logger Configuration for ECP5 has several additional features for Timestamp.

One of these is the "Externally Assigned Time Stamp" feature. When you enable this, the Fault Logger Component includes a 32-bit signature from an external source with each fault record logged.

A group of nodes named FL_TIMESTAMP will be visible in the Ports & Nodes view. Using the Logic view, the FL_TIMESTAMP group can be connected to either internal logic (for a different timebase) or external hardware such as a Real Time Clock (for example: to capture Hour, Day, Month, Year).
