1 Input to 1 Output MIPI CSI-2 Camera Repeater Bridge

Ensuring Seamless Transmission of Data Over Non-Ideal Routes

Important: For new designs, Lattice recommends using the following modular IP blocks to implement this function:

The following Reference Design provides an integration example using these modular IP blocks

Mobile cameras and processors are being used for new and exciting applications. A MIPI CSI-2 to MIPI CSI-2 design is sometimes needed as a repeater to extend the trace, connector and flex cable length between the camera and the host processor. Occasionally, there are problems in short and long packet transmission timings from certain images sensors, which need to be repaired in order for the applications processor to accept the imaging data.

Lattice CrossLink™ is a programmable video interface bridging device capable of solving these problems and providing multiple MIPI CSI-2 interfaces at up to 6 Gbps per PHY. This bridge is available as free IP in Lattice Diamond® for allowing easy configuration and setup.

Features

  • Supports MIPI CSI-2 up to 6 Gbps per MIPI D-PHY: 1, 2 or 4 data lanes
  • Provides one or two MIPI CSI-2 outputs: MIPI CSI-2 data replicated to each output port
  • Supports all MIPI CSI-2 data types: RAW, YUV, RGB, User Defined
  • Compliance with MIPI D-PHY Specification v1.1
  • Compliance with CSI-2 Specification v1.1
