A SYN file is the ispLEVER project file.This file is created when the user starts a new project in ispLEVER, and it gets updated when user enters information for the project. It contains all the information about the project such as the project name, device used, source files, test bench files, synthesis tool, simulation tool etc. This file is located in design project folder.Upon double clicking this file ,ispLEVER tool is invoked. The ispLEVER will reflect all the information available in the SYN file.
