PAC Designer: Error: Kernel Mode driver is not loaded in a memory
Description:
Since PAC-Designer is a legacy software, the Design Utility included in it has drivers that are only compatible with Windows XP and when invoked on other Windows Operating Systems, the error below will occur:
Error: Kernel Mode driver is not loaded in a memory
Solution:
A recommended workaround is to use a Windows XP virtual machine inside Windows 7/10 to run the utility out of PAC-Designer.
This can be accomplished by installing Windows XP mode from Microsoft or another virtual machine software that can access the USB ports of the PC.
Make sure to restart the system after installing the PAC designer software with admin rights.
Note that there will be no further updates on PAC-Designer.
