The SensorExtender Board allows the demonstration of an image sensor dislocated from an ISP. The SensorExtender Board, HDR-60 Base Board and MT9M024 NanoVesta Sensor Board are required to produce a working demonstration. The NanoVesta sensor plugs into the SensorExtender Board labeled Tx. Using the included CAT5E cable, it will be connected to the SensorExtender Rx board that plugs into the HDR-60 Base Board.
With the preloaded design in the SensorExtender, the designer can program the LatticeECP3 FPGA on the HDR-60 Base Board with the appropriate bitstream. Once the LatticeECP3 device has been programmed and the SEC board set is connected, an image will be visible via an HDMI monitor.
Each SensorExtender Board utilizes a MachXO2-4000 FPGA. Depending on the sensor to which it is interfacing, it is likely that a smaller density MachXO2 device can be used in some designs. In addition to connecting the SensorExtender Rx board to the HDR-60 Base Board, it can also optionally be connected to a Texas Instruments IP camera ISP via a flex cable (not included).
