Lattice iCE40 FPGA Family Named "Environmental Design" Winner In e-Legacy Awards
Low Cost, Low Power FPGA Cited for Energy Saving, Power Efficiency
HILLSBORO, OR – OCTOBER 4, 2012 – Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: LSCC) today announced that its ultra-low density iCE40™ FPGA family has won the prestigious e-Legacy Award in the "Environmental Design" category. Lattice was the only programmable logic company to be a Finalist in this category. The Award was presented to Lattice during the awards ceremony in London on September 13.
Now in its sixth year, Electronic Product Design (EPD) magazine's e-Legacy awards celebrate and reward not only technological innovation, but contributions that help preserve the environment and improve the communities where we live and work. The Environmental Design award recognizes an electronic design that is environmentally sensitive due to its energy saving and power efficiency. Finalists were chosen by a panel of industry experts, and the winners were selected by Electronic Product Design readers.
"Lattice Semiconductor was a worthy winner of this year's Environmental Design category for the mix of low power and high integration in its iCE40 FPGA family that allow designers to bring highly efficient end products to market," said Alistair Winning, Editor of EPD. "Despite tough competition from the four other finalists drawn from disparate areas of the industry, EPD's readers favoured the iCE40 family as the environmentally friendly product of 2012."
"As the leader in providing customers with low cost, low power, innovative programmable logic devices, Lattice is honored and gratified to receive this recognition from the readers of Electronic Product Design magazine," said Mustafa Veziroglu, Lattice Corporate Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. "Our ultra-low density iCE40 FPGA family is opening new markets and applications for FPGAs, including widespread adoption in consumer and mobile electronic designs."
About the iCE40 FPGA Family
The iCE40 family of FPGAs is designed for applications that have the most aggressive power, cost and footprint requirements. Ideally architected for smartphones, tablets, digital still cameras, and other space and power constrained systems, the iCE40 family uses a highly cost optimized fabric. The iCE40 FPGA family is an ideal choice for functions such as sensor management, video and imaging, custom connectivity, memory/storage expansion and glue logic.
