Bridging Industrial Displays to Mobile Application Processors

Most mobile processors use industry standard interfaces such as MIPI DSI for interface connectivity. Larger consumer and industrial displays sometimes have an OpenLDI or LVDS interface that cannot be directly connected to a mobile application processor without a bridge. Many new applications want to leverage mobile innovations while utilizing larger displays with specific requirements and capabilities. Lattice CrossLink and CrossLink-NX Family FPGAs are the perfect devices for these new applications.

Using the MIPI DSI/CSI-2 to OpenLDI LVDS interface bridge reference design for the CrossLink and CrossLink-NX Families, you can quickly create a bridging solution and configure for the specific interface requirement. This reference design is free and is provided to demonstrate the use of Lattice’s popular CrossLink and CrossLink-NX Family modular IPs including Byte to Pixel Converter, CSI-2/DSI D-PHY Receiver and FPD-LINK (OpenLDI) Transmitter.

  • Single CSI-2 input (RGB888, RAW8, RAW10, or RAW12) to single or dual channel RGB888 LVDS outputs (RGB888)
  • Single DSI input (RGB888 or RGB666) to single or dual channel LVDS output (RGB888 or RGB666)
  • Supports MIPI DSI input up to 1.5 Gbps per lane
  • Supports OpenLDI at 1.2 Gbps per lane
  • Compliant with CSI-2 Specification v1.1
  • Compliant with DSI Specification v1.1
