Texas Instruments ADC DACs using Lattice FPGAs

Texas Instruments has released two low cost evaluation boards to test and review various TI ADC and DAC products. The TSW1405 is the $99 board to evaluate TI's ADCs. The TSW1406 is the $99 board to evaluate TI's DACs. Both of these boards utilize a LatticeECP3-35 to interface to the converter. To assist in jump starting your design, Lattice has worked with TI to implement ECP3 HDL design files for various TI ADC and DAC families.

  • TI's TSW1405 for ADCs
  • ECP3 HDL for ADS41XX & ADS61XX
  • ECP3 HDL for ADS62PXX & ADS42XX
  • ECP3 HDL for ADS58C48
  • ECP3 HDL for ADS5400
  • ECP3 HDL for ADS5463 & ADS5485
  • TI's TSW1406 for DACs

The TSW1405 board has an ECP3-35, a USB interface and a TI ADC connector. When a TI ADC EVM is plugged into the TSW1405, the analog signal can be generated to the ADC. Then the ECP3 will interface to the ADC and using the internal I/O logic and memory of the ECP3, the result will be sent to the USB connector. The ADC characteristics can then be viewed on a PC. Use the TI High Speed Data Converter Pro software to see the waveform and signal characteristics.
