At Embedded World 2019, Lattice Brings AI to the Edge

Last week at Embedded World, the Nürnberg Exhibition Center was abuzz with conversations about today’s hottest tech topic, artificial intelligence (AI), as embedded engineers prowled the show floor looking for ways to quickly and easily add AI support to future products. Lucky for them, Lattice Semiconductor had the solutions they were looking for.
The latest demonstrations of our sensAI technology stack and Video Interface Platform solution were on hand to illustrate just how easy Lattice makes it for embedded designers to implement AI and machine vision in edge devices. If you weren’t able to attend Embedded World in person, our friends at Electronics Weekly put together an excellent video summarizing all Lattice had on display at the show. It’s a great way to learn more about what Lattice is doing to enable compelling AI experiences.
A highlight for this year’s show was our own Hussein Osman presenting his technical paper about a neural network (NN)-based key phrase detection solution powered by a low power Lattice UltraPlus™ FPGA. Key phrase detection can improve voice recognition performance in smart devices like light switches, A/V receivers and TVs by using a Neural Network (NN) specifically trained to discriminate between voice commands and background noise like music or conversation.
A special shout out to everyone who visited Lattice Semiconductor at Embedded World. Thanks to your participation, we saw record-breaking traffic in our booth as customers, partners and the media came by to learn how Lattice Semiconductor enables low-power AI and machine vision at the network edge. We’ll see you next year!
