Release Notes for Tri-Speed Ethernet MAC

Version    Date    Notes
3.0 2009-04
  • Added support for ECP3 devices
  • New GSR implementation
  • Correct issues found at UNH compliance testing
  • LM32 wrapper updated to support SGMII Easy connect mode

2.7

2008-09

  • Selectable interfaces to PHY
    • Classic Tri-Speed MAC with G/MII
    • Gigabit MAC with GMII - Has no internal Tx EBR and does not require any PLLs in the top design, it is also smaller in size tha the CLASSIC_TSMAC or SGMII_TSMAC
    • SGMII Easy Connect with GMII for ECP2/M and SC/M devices - Offers seamless connectivity to the Lattice Gigabit Ethernet PCS IP.  Has an 8-bit GMII interface and uses clock enables.  A single 125Mhz clock can be used for all 3 speed modes.
  • Now handles "non-standard" preambles.
  • TX_RX_CTL register bit-6 has been changed from the previously non functional Dis_rtry to "Drop_control".  When set, it will drop Rx pause frames inside the MAC, instead of allowing them to be presented to the client interface.
  • Fix to the LatticeMico32 wrapper to correct the Rx clock generation when in 10/100 mode.

2.6

2008-06

  • Updated to support ispLEVER 7.1
  • Fix to MIIM interface which stopped working when the Rx/Tx is enabled and starts working when the Rx/Tx is disabled
  • Fix case where core would not generate for LatticeSCM devices

2.5

2008-01

  • Add support for VHDL tool flows
  • Add support for development on Linux and Unix platforms
  • Add support for Aldec simulation

2.4

2007-06

  • Add support for LatticeMico32 with automatic install

2.3

2007-02

  • Add device support for LatticeECP2M
  • Add reference configurations with a core only option
