If you have already installed ispLEVER or ispLEVER PRO with Active-HDL Lattice Edition (LE), and now wish to install and use ispLEVER Classic to design CPLDs like the ispMACH 4000, you can configure ispLEVER Classic to use the full-featured Active-HDL Lattice Edition (LE) simulator.
The library resources for SPLD, CPLD, and mature FPGA device families supported in ispLEVER Classic are not installed with ispLEVER or ispLEVER PRO. Active-HDL Lattice Web Edition (LWE) is distributed as a web download for ispLEVER Classic or ispLEVER Starter. It supports single HDL simulation and installs library support devices covered by ispLEVER Classic/Starter only. Active-HDL Lattice Edition (LE) is distributed with ispLEVER and ispLEVER Pro 7.1 or later (ispLEVER/Pro) and provides Verilog/VHDL co-simulation and a higher performance/capacity engine for simulation. LWE should only be used of LE is not available.
Use the procedure below to install and configure Active-HDL Lattice Edition simulation libraries for CPLD, SPLD, and mature FPGAs.
- Review the ispLEVER/ispLEVER PRO license and environment.
To ensure ispLEVER Classic and Active-HDL Lattice Edition features are enabled, configure the system environment to use the ispLEVER/PRO license file provided to you. The ispLEVER/PRO license file will enable both ispLEVER Classic and Active-HDE (LE).
- Unpack Classic libraries and library configuration (library.cfg) into the ispLEVER/PRO install tree.
Click here for a ZIP archive of the libraries and library configuration file. Unpack to the <install path>active-hdlVlib directory. Several pre-compiled Active-HDL libraries for SPLD, CPLD, and mature FPGAs are added. The library.cfg file is replaced with one that covers all device families supported by ispLEVER Classic and ispLEVER/PRO.
- Update Active-HDL Install Path within ispLEVER Classic Project Navigator.
- Run ispLEVER Classic Project Navigator.
- Choose Options > Environment...
- The Environment Options dialog appears.
- Choose the Directories tab. Click the ... button.
The Set Active-HDL Install Path dialog appears.
- Browse to the <install path>active-hdl\in directory and click OK.
- Click OK to accept the Active-HDL directory.
