MIPI CSI-2 to Ethernet

Real-Time MIPI CSI-2 Video Transport over Ethernet

The MIPI CSI-2 to Ethernet Reference Design integrates a single camera sensor with the Lattice Certus-N2 Evaluation Board and focuses primarily on the camera sensor subsystem and Ethernet transmission path. Video data captured from the MIPI CSI-2 sensor is processed and encapsulated into Audio Video Transport Protocol (AVTP) Layer 2 packets for efficient transport over Ethernet. The corresponding receiver and display functions are implemented on the Avant platform and are described in the associated Avant reference design and user guide. Together, these designs demonstrate an end-to-end video streaming solution that enables high-quality, real-time video transport and display.

Features

Key features of the MIPI CSI-2 to Ethernet reference design include:

  • Supports a single IMX219 camera sensor per Lattice Certus-N2 board
  • Supports 10 Gbps Ethernet operating speed
  • Video format:
    • 1080p video resolution at 30 frames per second
    • Layer 2 AVTP
