  • Why do I get this error message like this: "ERROR - IO register/latch csi2_to_cmos_inst/inst1_inst/lv_ff cannot be implemented in PIC." ?

    FAQ

Why do I get this error message like this: "ERROR - IO register/latch csi2_to_cmos_inst/inst1_inst/lv_ff cannot be implemented in PIC." ?

This one is caused by forcing a register whose input is being traced to be implemented as an input flip-flop because of a preference, USE DIN.In this case, allowing the register to be implemented as an internal flip-flop by removing the preferences should resolve the issue.
  • What happens to the Lattice FPGA if we break the recommended Logic Signal Connections that shall not exceed a maximum of n * 8 mA?

    FAQ

What happens to the Lattice FPGA if we break the recommended Logic Signal Connections that shall not exceed a maximum of n * 8 mA?

FPGA's including Lattice FGPA and other VLSI circuits are connected using thin-film metallic conductors and they are subject to increasingly high current densities. Under these conditions, electromigration can lead to the electrical failure of interconnects in relatively short times, reducing the…

  • Why Fmax is reduced after encrypting a source file using IEEE-1735 standard?

    FAQ

Why Fmax is reduced after encrypting a source file using IEEE-1735 standard?

This is not uncommon when using encrypted files. Commonly, when source files are encrypted, the same result (or better) cannot be expected from design tools (Lattice tools or any other tools in the EDA industry). When modules/files are encrypted, we are more limited in our optimization options…
  • Can we generate IBIS models using Diamond, Radiant, and iCEcube2 Software?

    FAQ

Can we generate IBIS models using Diamond, Radiant, and iCEcube2 Software?

Yes, Radiant and Diamond Software gives you the ability to generate IBIS model based on the user's design. Simply check "IBIS Model" in the Export options. After Export, the IBIS model can be found in the implementation folder. Unfortunately, IBIS models cannot be generated using iCEcube2. However,…
  • About Master Link board Rev D

    FAQ

About Master Link board Rev D

Please use documentation on Cross Link Rev C for your customers who are using Rev D. Generally, the change is just an improvement of the circuit layout on the board in order to remove the wire jumper that is present in Rev C and implement in Rev D. Nonetheless, they are the same in function.
  • CSI-2/DSI D-PHY Receiver Submodule IP V1.4 Simulation Issue

    FAQ

CSI-2/DSI D-PHY Receiver Submodule IP V1.4 Simulation Issue

Essentially, you have to disable packet parser in order for you to see the output on the top module (bd0_o). Also, you need to set disable the word alignment. When word aligner is enabled, whatever you get from the dphy data lane, that will be the mixel's output; thus unaligned. That is why we got…
  • Where can we change the configuration oscillator clock frequency for iCE40 Devices?

    FAQ

Where can we change the configuration oscillator clock frequency for iCE40 Devices?

Depending on what software you are using, (Radiang Software or iCEcube2), you can change the configuration oscillator clock frequency using these steps:In Radiant Software, go to Project >Active Stratefy > Bitstream Settings > Oscillator Frequency RangeIn iCEcube2, go to Tool > Tool Options > Bitmap…
  • Does Diamond support 4k resolution?

    FAQ

    Does Diamond support 4k resolution?

Currently, 4k resolution is only supported in Radiant and not in Diamond. This is Diamond's known limitation but there is already an existing enhancement request to be able to support this. The workaround, for now, is for customer to use a lower resolution even if they are using a 4k monitor.
