The L-ASC10 (ASC) Breakout Board is a versatile hardware platform for evaluating and designing with L-ASC10 devices. The board is designed to work in conjunction with either the ASC Bridge Board or the Platform Manager 2 Development Kit. The Platform Manager 2 Development 2 Kit includes a board and documentation is available for download. The ASC Bridge Board requires either the MachXO3-9400 Development Board or the ECP5 Versa Development Board. You can implement and debug your scalable hardware management functions (power, thermal, and control plane management) and test them out with any of these evaluation boards.
The Board – The core of the ASC Breakout Board is the L-ASC10 device. The board includes hardware to emulate Power Management, Thermal Management, and Control Plane Functions in the form of slider potentiometers, LEDs, and temperature sensors. The board also includes unpopulated circuit footprints for evaluation of advanced functions like trimming / margining and hot swap. The board will be detected automatically by the Platform Manager 2 I2C GUI for measurement and control. The board includes a connector for use with a required Platform Manager 2 central controller; either the ASC Bridge Board (with the MachXO3-9400 Development Board or the ECP5 Versa Development Board) or the Platform Manager 2 Development Kit.
Programming and Power – The L-ASC10 device on the board is programmed using Lattice Diamond Programmer via either the ASC Bridge Board (with the MachXO3-9400 Development Board or the ECP5 Versa Development Board) or the Platform Manager 2 Development Kit and USB Cable. Power for the board comes from the Platform Manager 2 system that it is plugged into or from hot swap circuits installed by the user.
