Oregano Systems - Design & Consulting GmbH provides design and consulting services in the area of the integration of complex electronic systems. Oregano Systems designs and sells products for highly accurate clock synchronization (less than 10 ns) via standard Ethernet networks based on the IEEE1588 protocol.

The deterministic and lossless delivery of packets over a network has become a major requirement in Carrier Ethernet, Data Center Ethernet and Industrial Ethernet applications, requiring precise synchronization. The solutions come in two major class of IP Cores. The first category is an SoC-class of System IP Cores that include both hardware (VHDL-based) and software components (C code running on an optimized 8051 core). syn1588® VIP is a suite of three system IP solutions that are supported on both LatticeECP3 and LatticeECP2M FPGA families.

The VHDL-based Hardware engine only is supported on the LatticeXP and LatticeXP2 FPGA Families for applications where the customer would like to run the IEEE-1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) stack on an external CPU.

This range of solutions support any usage the customer would potentially need - a hardware co-processor engine, a System IP core to be integrated into their mission logic or as a stand-alone SoC (virtual ASSP) in a very cost-effective manner.
