The LatticeECP2M SERDES Evaluation Board provides flexible platform designed to help the user quickly evaluate the performance of the LatticeECP2M FPGA or aid in development of custom designs. For more evaluation board options, see the LatticeECP2M PCI Express x4 Evaluation Board

Each LatticeECP2M SERDES Evaluation Board includes the following:

  • LatticeECP2M SERDES Evaluation Board featuring:
    • LFE2M50E-6F672C FPGA Device (Note: Previous versions of this board included the LFE2M35E-6F672C device)
    • SMA connectors for SERDES I/O, LVDS evaluation, and external clock I/O
    • x1 PCI Express edge connector (Note: Only available with ECP2M-50 or larger FPGA installed)
    • On-board DDR2 Memory
    • SFP Transceiver cage and associated interface (Note: Only available with ECP2M-50 or larger FPGA installed)
    • SATA-like connections to SERDES channels (Note: Only available with ECP2M-50 or larger FPGA installed)
    • On-board Flash configuration memory
    • Various LEDs, switches, connectors, I/O headers, high-speed layout structures, and on-board power control
  • ispDOWNLOAD cable for device programming
  • Power Supply

Device Support

You will need the following software to use this board:

  • ispLEVER for design, fitting, place & route of Lattice programmable devices
  • ispVM to download your program to the LatticeECP2M or on-board Flash memory devices

LatticeECP2M SERDES Demo

Click here to download a SERDES demo package for use with this board. This demo illustrates the SERDES/PCS abilities of the LatticeECP2M. It does this by embedding a simple pseudo-random pattern into an 8b/10b encoded PCS payload, then looping back the payload, and checking it for correctness. Further documentation along with source & programming files are included with the demo package.

Part Number (With LatticeECP2M50E device): LFE2M50E-S-EVN (RoHS Compliant)
Note: LFE2M50E-S-EVN replaces the LFE2M35E-S-EV, which had included the LatticeECP2M-35 device. It also replaces the LFE2M50E-S-EV, which was non-RoHS Compliant.
