Overview

Lattice Development Kits Logo Lattice PCI Express Virtual Development Kits are solutions that enable designers to evaluate Lattice's PCI Express IP capabilities in a complete hardware/software development environment, modify and test different functionality, and then create new designs using a known good starting point. The kits include several components to help accelerate quick prototype development, including a demo package with evaluation bitstreams, drivers, and GUI, RTL source for top-level project directories and documentation.

Demo Applications Four demo applications, for control plane or data plane applications, are included in the downloadable executable files. Click on a link to download all four demos, supported by either Windows or Linux platforms. PCI Express Basic Demo The PCI Express (PCIe) Endpoint IP Basic Core Demo shows the capabilities of Lattice's PCI Express cores to function in a PCIe slot within a Windows-based PC. The demo is simple, easy-to-use, and requires no test equipment or lengthy setup. The demo consists of hardware, IP, and software. It runs on standard LatticeSCM PCI Express Evaluation Boards. PCI Express Throughput Demo This demo demonstrates and measures performance bandwidth between the PCI Express IP core and the LatticeSCM SERDES, specifically measuring data rates for reads from PC memory and writes to PC memory. PCI Express Scatter-Gather DMA Demo The Scatter-Gather DMA IP core, together with the PCIe IP core, demonstrate data transfer between the Lattice FPGA and system memory using the evaluation board	SCM PCI Express Development Kit Demos (Windows)	SCM PCI Express Development Kit Demos (Linux)
ispLEVER Design Software The development kit includes a 60-day license of the ispLEVER software for both Windows and Linux platforms. ispLEVER is the design environment for all Lattice FPGAs. ispLEVER also includes the IPexpress software for configuration of custom IP designs (such as the PCI Express IP core). Licensing

All LatticeSCM PCI Express MACO IP cores are free of charge through ispLEVER. However a license key is required to enable simulation and bitstream generation. Please contact your local Lattice Sales Office to obtain your MACO IP license key or for any questions on how to purchase ispLeverCOREs.
