The ispMACH 4000ZE Pico Development Kit is a battery-powered, low-cost platform to accelerate the evaluation of ispMACH 4000ZE CPLDs. The kit features the ispMACH 4256ZE-MN144 device, Power Manager II ispPAC-POWR6AT6 device, a high-side current sense circuit, a 7-segment LCD display, and an expansion header landing for I2C, JTAG, and GPIO interfacing.

Using the preloaded ispMACH 4000ZE Pico Power demo design provided with the development kit, you can now test within minutes an I2C master and LCD controller interfaces in addition to the embedded ispMACH 4000ZE OSCTIMER block. You can then build your own designs using the free downloadable ispMACH 4000ZE reference design source code, implementing these features in less than an hour. The board also features USB channels for JTAG programming and I2C interfacing from a host PC. A pin header landing provides access to both PIO banks of the ispMACH 4000ZE CPLD and the on-board I2C bus. The board can be controlled with a I2C utility program (PicoView) running on a host PC.

  • Pico Power Demo
This demo includes the RTL source and firmware for the pre-programmed demo provided with the ispMACH 4000ZE Pico Evaluation Board. It uses an I2C master Reference Design to communicate with the current and voltage sensor circuits and display measurements to the LCD display.

  • GPIO I2C Expansion Demo
This demo demonstrates I2C traffic between a host PC running the PicoView I2C utility program and the Pico board configured as an I2C slave. Data is available at the expansion header or LCD display. Control and status registers of the I2C slave can be read from or written to via the program GUI.
 
PicoView Software Interface
Software interface to the GPIO I2C Expansion Demo. Provides access to control and status registers of the LC4256ZE and POWR6AT6 PLDs. Compatible with Windows XP/Vista.
ispLEVER Classic Design Software
To modify a demo or download your own designs into the ispMACH 4000ZE Pico Evaluation Board requires ispLEVER Classic, or ispLEVER for Linux. To program the ispMACH 4000ZE Pico Evaluation Board requires ispVM System Device Programming Software.
