Download and Licensing

Before you begin local installation, do the following:

  2. Download the PAC-Designer Software into a temporary folder.
  3. Request a license file (at no charge): By providing your primary hard drive (C:) serial number, a license file will be sent to you via e-mail.

Local Installation

Perform the following steps to install the PAC-Designer software:

  1. Running the self-extracting executable file (pacd51_install.exe) will automatically begin the setup and installation of the PAC-Designer software into a user-designated directory (The default directory is c:PAC-Designer51).
  2. When prompted by the installation setup program, set the LM_LICENSE_FILE environment variable in your autoexec.bat file (Windows 98) or Control Panel (Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista).
  3. When prompted by the installation setup program, select to add these files to the existing installation path.
  4. Reboot your PC before running the software (After setting the environment variables in your autoexec.bat file or control panel, system, you must reboot your PC).
  5. You now need the file named license.dat created during the online registration (step 3 from Web Site Procedures, above) in the c:PAC-Designer51 directory (the path pointed to by the LM_LICENSE_FILE environment variable). Copy the license.dat license file that you receive by email into this directory.

Your PAC-Designer software installation is now complete.
