LATTICE WILL SHOWCASE NEW 90NM FPGAs AT
THE EMBEDDED SYSTEMS CONFERENCE SILICON VALLEY

- Unique SRAM + Embedded Flash Non-Volatile FPGAs Also Featured  -

HILLSBORO, OR -- March 20, 2006 --  Lattice Semiconductor (NASDAQ: LSCC) today announced that it will demonstrate its recently introduced 90nm LatticeSC™ high performance and LatticeECP2™ low cost FPGAs at the Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley, April 4-6, in Booth 3318.  Mixed-signal devices for clock and power management, particularly well suited for embedded applications, will also be featured, as well as the LatticeMico8, an 8-bit soft microcontroller core and the Lattice ispLEVER® software design tool suite.

“The Embedded Systems Conference will be the first opportunity for attendees to see the new 90nm LatticeSC and LatticeECP2 FPGA families in action, and to discuss their features and technologies with our technical applications personnel,” said Stan Kopec, corporate vice president of marketing.  “In fact, at the ESC Lattice will feature what we believe to be the most comprehensive and technologically differentiated FPGA products in the industry, including our unique non-volatile LatticeXP™ and MachXO™ devices.  We have a very strong story, and we are looking forward to sharing it at the Embedded Systems Conference.”

About Lattice FPGAs and PLDs

The new 90nm LatticeECP2 FPGAs combine an efficient FPGA fabric with dedicated high-performance DSP blocks on-chip for high-volume, low-cost applications.  The new “Extreme Performance” 90nm LatticeSC FPGAs provide unsurpassed performance and connectivity for high-speed applications.  LatticeXP non-volatile FPGAs combine SRAM and embedded Flash technologies to provide infinite reconfigurability and easy field upgrades.  Lattice MachXO non-volatile crossover programmable logic devices support applications traditionally addressed by high density CPLDs or low capacity FPGAs, but with a more comprehensive and cost-effective architecture and technology.

About Lattice Mixed Signal Devices

The new Power Manager II devices replace power management functions typically requiring multiple ICs, including Reset Generators, Voltage Supervisors, Sequencers and Trackers.  In addition, the ispPAC-POWR1014A device replaces Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) ICs used for power supply voltage measurements, controlled through a standard I2C interface.  All Power Manager devices provide a standard, off-the-shelf programmable mixed signal solution for power management that enhances reliability and speeds time-to-market.  Analog features such as input comparator thresholds and digital functions such as supply control sequences are programmed into non-volatile E2CMOS® elements on the devices using an IEEE1149.1 protocol.

Lattice’s ispClock5600A devices substantially reduce clock network design effort.  Traditionally, as the performance requirements of the system increased, the effort required to generate and distribute clocks grew exponentially.  Programmable ispClock devices provide unprecedented convenience to designers without compromising the system specifications.  The devices provide faster time to market, reduced board space and improved manufacturability and reliability.

About LatticeMico8

The LatticeMico8 is an 8-bit soft microcontroller core for the LatticeECP™, LatticeEC™ and LatticeXP families of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) as well as the MachXO family of Crossover Programmable Logic Devices.  In order to encourage user experimentation, development and contributions, Lattice is providing a new open intellectual property (IP) core license, the first such license offered by any FPGA supplier.  The license applies many of the concepts of the successful open source movement to IP cores targeted for programmable logic applications.
