Synplicity and Lattice Semiconductor Expand Strategic Relationship

Companies Extend Their Multi-Year OEM Agreement

HILLSBORO, Ore. and SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 27, 2003 - Synplicity Inc. (Nasdaq: SYNP), a leading supplier of software for the design and verification of semiconductors, and Lattice Semiconductor Corporation, (Nasdaq: LSCC), the industry's leading supplier of in-system programmable devices, today announced the renewal of their long-term strategic relationship by expanding the existing OEM agreement between the two companies. Under the terms of the multi-year agreement expansion, Synplicity will continue to provide Lattice customers with access to its industry-leading FPGA synthesis tool as well as upgrade current users of the Synplify Lite® software to a full version of the Synplify® software. As a result, designers using Lattice Semiconductor devices will have access to the increased performance and quality of results benefits offered by Synplicity's FPGA synthesis software. As part of this OEM agreement, Lattice Semiconductor and Synplicity will continue to jointly develop the Synplify software and Lattice Semiconductor will market and distribute the software within its development system.

Additionally, with this agreement, Lattice customers will have wider access to full versions of the Synplify software.

Pricing and Availability
Users under current maintenance support of the multi-vendor Synplify and Synplify Pro software will have immediate access to the enhanced quality of results for Lattice FPGAs in today's Synplify 7.3 release. The distribution of the Synplify 7.3 software to Lattice OEM customers will be available in July as an update release to Lattice's ispLEVER® design tool suite version 3.0.
