Lattice Ships 20 Millionth 3.3V In-System Programmable High-Density PLD

-3.3V CPLD Shipments Continue to Lead the Industry-

HILLSBORO, OR- OCTOBER 16, 2000- Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: LSCC) today announced it has sold over 20 million 3.3V in-system programmable (ISP) high density programmable logic devices (PLDs). Propelled by the popularity of Lattice's BFW (Big-Fast-Wide) CPLDs launched over the past 2 years, Lattice's shipments of 3.3V CPLDs now exceed 35% of Lattice's total high density sales, have generated cumulative sales to customers of over $200 Million and has established Lattice as the industry leader in 3.3V CPLDs.

"Lattice's commitment to the CPLD marketplace and our success in the 3.3V area have established Lattice's BFW products as the industry's preferred 3.3V product line", stated Steve Stark, Lattice Director of Product Marketing. "Lattice is building on this momentum with the current release of its second generation of innovative BFW products".

"Our 3.3V BFW Complex PLD (CPLD) products, and recently released ispMACH devices, now provide 19 logic density options optimized for speed, density and I/O," continued Stark. "This represents nearly 4 times the number of 3.3V CPLD options of our nearest competitor and demonstrates Lattice's CPLD leadership and continuing commitment to bring innovation to the CPLD market."

The demand for 3.3V PLDs has been driven by leading-edge applications in wireless communications, mass storage, remote access, optical transport and local area networks. With over 40% of new electronic system designs incorporating 3.3V PLDs, Lattice's broad portfolio of 3.3V PLDs is able to deliver exactly the right combination of speed, density and I/O, an important asset to PLD customers to optimize system performance and minimize manufacturing costs.

Lattice has also taken the lead in the 2.5Volt CPLD marketplace as it was the first company to release 2.5 Volt ISP CPLD devices with its ispLSI 2000VL product family in 1999.
