Lattice Ships 15 Million Power Manager Devices

Low Cost, System Level Power Management Solutions Win Broad Market Acceptance

Lattice has now shipped more than 15 million Power Manager devices. All seven Power Manager devices have been broadly adopted in a wide range of high volume, cost sensitive applications because they enable board designers to integrate the multiple power management functions of a circuit board into a single programmable device. Integration reduces overall system cost by eliminating duplicate functions; for example, the multiple precision voltage references that are required in discrete designs.

Power Manager’s unique approach to an integrated, programmable power management solution has continued to drive its widespread adoption in a broad range of power supply management applications that require high reliability and design flexibility. Offering customers an "All-in-One” power management solution, the Power Manager integrates precision voltage supervisors, sequencers, watchdog timers, hot-swap controllers, voltage measurement, regulator trim/margining, I²C interface and reset generators while reducing implementation cost by up to 30%.

Users are discovering that they can customize their power management circuits for their individual requirements. No longer do they need to settle for discrete power management designs that only marginally meet their requirements and can compromise the board’s reliability. Power Manager shipments have accelerated dramatically in a variety of end markets, including communications, consumer, computing, industrial and medical, making the Power Manager devices among Lattice's fastest growing products.

New Website Simplifies Access to Design Aids

Designing with Power Manager and Platform Manager devices is now easier using the new functional design of the Lattice website. A point-and-click block diagram displayed at the top of the Power and Platform Manager web page directly links to function-specific design documents such as reference designs, design examples, source codes, application notes and software guides.

Design Software Support

Power Manager designs are implemented using the Windows-based PAC-Designer software version 6.1. Platform Manager designs also use Lattice Diamond 1.3 to program the internal FPGA. Both these software suites are available for download free of charge.
