Lattice Demonstrates New LatticeECP3 FPGA Family at Embedded World March 3-5
International exhibition showcases the latest Lattice products.
The world’s largest exhibition of embedded technologies recently took place in Nuremberg, Germany. For three days in early March, the international embedded community gathered together at the Embedded World Exhibition & Conference to present and discuss the latest innovations in embedded design and technology.
Less than two weeks after announcing its new LatticeECP3 FPGA family, Lattice demonstrated the new device to designers using two of its three available development boards. On its LatticeECP3 I/O Protocol Board, the LatticeECP3 FPGA was shown implementating the LatticeMico32 embeddded soft processor. The LatticeECP3 Serial Protocol Board was used to conduct a DVI demonstration with streaming video. The new MachXO Mini Development Kit, announced simultaneously with the LatticeECP3 family, was also demonstrated. Another demonstration showcased throughput on a LatticeECP2M board, with attendees viewing the PCI Express compliant test on a LeCroy SDA oscilloscope. In conjunction with Helion GmbH, Lattice presented a video processing system that incorporated the award-winning LatticeXP2 non-volatile FPGA on the camera head and the LatticeECP2/M FPGA in their VESTA development platform for LatticeMico32-based image processing functions and interfaces.

“Embedded World is the largest embedded design event in the industry, and an excellent venue at which to demonstrate our products, particularly our new high-value, low-power LatticeECP3 FPGA family,” said Doug Hunter, Lattice Vice President of Corporate Marketing. When we launched the LatticeECP3 February 23, we emphasized that the devices – and the evaluation boards - were in production. What better way to show that the LatticeECP3 is real silicon than by highlighting it at this industry showcase for embedded design? At the same time, this was a great opportunity to demonstrate our award winning LatticeXP2 and LatticeECP2M FPGAs as well as our unique open source LatticeMico32 embedded processor.”
