Lattice Demonstrates LatticeECP3, ispClock5400D and More at Embedded Systems Expo
International exhibition showcases the latest Lattice products.
The largest exhibition of embedded technologies in Japan, Embedded Systems Expo (ESEC), was held May 13-15, 2009 at the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center. The exhibition drew more than 110,000 attendees, including many international visitors.

Lattice provided several application demonstrations as well as "mini-presentations" on the latest Lattice products.
The LatticeECP3 Video Protocol Board was used for a 3G-SDI video demo that highlighted the excellent alignment and timing jitter performance of the new LatticeECP3 FPGA. The ispClock5400D programmable clock device also generated a lot of interest, with a demo that showed the ultra-low phase jitter of the differential outputs on an oscilloscope.
Other demonstrations included the following:
- PCI Express with LatticeECP2M - DMA demo using the LatticeECP2M PCI Express Development Kit
- HD-SDI SMPTE with LatticeECP2M - Showed various demo configurations (video source, image processing, etc.) using a LatticeECP2M-100 board specially created by two of Lattice's Japanese distributors.
- Gigabit Ethernet demo with LatticeSCM - Using a backplane and long copper cables, the superior transmission performance of the LatticeSCM was demonstrated along with its unique and powerful debug utility, ORCAstra.
- LatticeXP2 with LatticeMico8 and LatticeMico32 - A simple demo was run for this non-volatile FPGA that incorporates the LatticeMico soft processor.
- MachXO - A demo was run using the MachXO Mini Development Kit.
This was Lattice's first participation at this annual event. As the sole FPGA vendor in the show this year, Lattice drew a great deal of attention from the large number of engineers who visited the Lattice booth.
Attendees crowded the Lattice booth for demonstrations and information about the latest Lattice products.
