June 2008The ispMACH 4000ZE Evaluation Board is a compact, efficient and low-cost platform designed to help you evaluate the ispMACH 4000ZE technology, learn the device features and operation, and prototype your own design.
The new ispMACH 4000ZE ultra low power CPLD breaks new ground for low-power programmable logic applications. This remarkable device family features a rich assortment of valuable features such as Power Guard dynamic power reduction; per-pin pull-up, pull-down or bus keeper control; an on-chip user oscillator and timer; input hysteresis, and ultra-small, space-saving packages. The ispMACH4000ZE proves that the greatest achievements can come in the smallest packages.
The ispMACH 4000ZE Evaluation Board is designed to help you evaluate the ispMACH 4000ZE technology, verify the data sheet specifications for your application, learn the device features and operation, and prototype your own design. The board features an ispMACH 4064ZE (or 4256ZE, available soon) in a 144-ball csBGA package.

For maximum ease-of-use, the board is both powered and programmed via a standard USB cable connected to a PC. No additional power supply or programming hardware is required. Simply plug the board into your PC, and you’re up and running in minutes.
By removing specific jumpers from the board, the ispMACH 4000ZE can be completely isolated from the rest of the circuit board. Power consumption can then be accurately measured via an ammeter in-series with the ispMACH 4000ZE.
The board features a number of LEDs, LCDs, buttons and switches for general-purpose input and output. Nearly all the ispMACH 4000ZE I/Os are accessible as well. This can be valuable if you wish to measure the I/O response to different load conditions with different programmable I/O types.
Design for the ispMACH 4000ZE family is supported by the ispLEVER Classic 1.1 software. This complete design environment is available for download from the Lattice website. If you wish to download your completed design to the board, simply load the ispVM System software. The board is then recognized as a “USB Download Cable”, and the ispMACH 4000ZE device can be scanned and targeted.
The ispMACH4064ZE Evaluation Board is available for purchase from the Lattice On-line Store at the economical price of US$175. Boards are in stock and shipping now!
