Lattice and the Road to 100G Alliance at NXTcomm08

Alliance forms technical committee, kicks off formal working groups.

Lattice participated in NXTcomm08, June 16-19 in Las Vegas, Nevada, as part of the Road to 100G Alliance.

Representatives from Lattice took part in a panel entitled "Challenges and Solutions for 100G Networks". Other panelists included representatives from Nokia-Siemens Networks, Mintera, IP Infusion, and Infonetics Research. Michael Howard, Founder and Principal Analyst of  Infonetics Research, led the panel with his presentation "Trends and Drivers on the Road to 100G". The panel discussed the challenges in developing and deploying next generation equipment. The Alliance has identified some key challenges to developing 100G platforms. A whitepaper discussing these challenges is also available on the Alliance website.

The Alliance issued a press release at NXTcomm08, announcing the formation of a Technical Committee chartered to identify gaps in technology and standards that could impact the rollout of 100G OTN and Ethernet platforms. Lalit Merani, Lattice Product Planning Manager, was appointed the Chairperson of the Technical Committee and will oversee the committee's working group.
