A collection of new evaluation boards and the Lattice 7:1 LVDS Video Demo Kit support the latest FPGA families.
Lattice has recently introduced a number of new printed circuit boards for evaluation, demonstration and development with the newest Lattice FPGAs. Whether you’re interested in learning more about the performance of Lattice products, or if you're in the middle of completing your own solution, Lattice boards can help you achieve your goals.
These boards and associated schematic designs can also provide a convenient starting point when developing your own solution. Schematic symbols of many Lattice products are available on the Lattice website, and additional board design resources (i.e. schematic/layout source files) are available for many Lattice boards by request from your local Lattice sales representative.
Two boards are available for the LatticeECP2M, both featuring a LatticeECP2M-35 in the 672-ball fpBGA package. These boards feature complimentary sets of interfaces to help you evaluate the LatticeECP2M’s performance in a variety of applications.
The LatticeECP2M PCI Express x4 Evaluation Board features a x4 PCI Express edge connector. You can use this, along with the Lattice PCI Express IP core, and Lattice IPexpress configuration software to develop and evaluate your own PCI Express solution. Other features on this board include on-board DDR2 memory, Flash configuration memory, SMA connections for clock, LVDS and PLL I/O, and various LEDs, switches, general purpose headers, an oscillator and other various support components.
The board is also designed for future migration to the LatticeECP2M-50. This density includes additional SERDES channels that can be routed to video/BNC connectors and general purpose SMAs. Look for more news on this as the LatticeECP2M-50 becomes available.

The LatticeECP2M SERDES Evaluation Board gives you direct access to 4 SERDES channels via general purpose SMA connectors. Other features on this board are similar to the LatticeECP2M PCI Express x4 Evaluation Board, with on-board DDR2 memory, various LEDs, switches, general purpose headers, SMAs, Flash configuration memory, an oscillator, etc.
This board includes a number of differentiating features that will take advantage of additional resources on the LatticeECP2M-50 device. When populated with this device, the board also includes an active PCI Express x1 edge connector, and SFP Transceiver cage, and SATA interface. Look for more news on this as the LatticeECP2M-50 becomes available.

Two new boards for LatticeSC/M FPGA evaluation have also been recently introduced. All LatticeSC boards are populated with LatticeSCM devices (which include structured ASIC MACO blocks), but can be used to evaluate LatticeSC (non-MACO) features as well, since the LatticeSC and LatticeSCM share the same I/O pin configurations.
The LatticeSC PCI Express x1 Evaluation Board features a LatticeSCM-25 FPGA, x1 PCI Express edge connector and PCI Express card form-factor. This board also includes a wide array of interfaces and on-board resources, including on-board QDR2 and RLDRAM2 memory, SATA host/target, 1Gbe SFP interface, Tri-speed Ethernet PHY with RJ-45 jack, and an RS232 port. The board also includes general purpose SMA connectors for SERDES, LVDS and general I/O interface/evaluation. Finally, a rich assortment of LEDs, switches, headers, configuration memory, on-board power control are also included.

The LatticeSC PCI Express x8 Evaluation Board features a LatticeSCM-80 FPGA, along with a x8 PCI Express edge connector and PCI Express card form-factor. Other general purpose evaluation features include on-board DDR2 memory, SMA connectors, Video/BNC connectors, and various LEDs, switches, headers, configuration memory, on-board power control and more.

The Lattice 7:1 LVDS Video Demo Kit is a set of boards and cables that can be used with a LatticeECP2-Advanced board (or independently) to demonstrate a 7:1 LVDS solution. The default design is built around the LatticeECP2/M 7:1 LVDS Video Interface Reference Design , but can be amended or configured in any number of ways.
In the standard demo, data is sourced from a video source via DVI, converted to LVDS, and fed to the LatticeECP2-50 FPGA. There it can be processed, filtered, etc. demonstrating the DSP capability of the LatticeECP2-50, and its ability to cleanly transmit high-speed LVDS data. The output is then fed in reverse to a DVI-compatible display, where the results of the processing in the LatticeECP2 FPGA can be seen on-screen.
