Convergence Automotive Conference 2006

The Convergence conference brings together the world’s leading electronics technologists, engineers, and business executives to discuss significant topics related to the future of electronics in automobiles.

Lattice participated in the Convergence automotive show and conference at the Cobo Center in downtown Detroit, Michigan October 16-18, 2006. This was Lattice's second time to show its latest automotive devices at this conference.

Four products were highlighted at the show with demonstration systems for customer interaction:

• LatticeECP2 with 7:1 LVDS Video demo which showcased the family's ability to directly process 7:1 LVDS almost entirely within the I/O structure of the device.
• LatticeMico32 - Soft Core 32-Bit Microprocessor operating within a LatticeECP2 FPGA (see article this issue).
• LatticeMico8 - Soft Core 8-Bit Microcontroller operating within a MachXO Crossover CPLD.
• ispPAC-POWR1014/A - Power Manager II which offers CPU Reset, Over/Under voltage monitoring and reporting, Supply Sequencing and Hot Swap/Soft Start features.

With its continued commitment to the automotive market (see article this issue on ISO/TS-16949 certification), Lattice was in good company with the likes of Delphi Electronics, Siemens VDO and General Motors, which were all displaying their latest automotive electronic technology.
