ispMACH 4000ZEispMACH 4000ZE Devices Just Got Smaller

Industry's lowest power CPLD now available in a BGA package with a 36% smaller footprint.

If you are designing a hand-held application and are challenged by limited board space, take a look at the ispMACH 4000ZE devices in the new 64-ball ucBGA (ultra chip scale BGA) package with a 4mm by 4mm footprint and the 132-ball ucBGA package with a 6 mm by 6mm footprint. These new, space-saving packages enable designers to use ispMACH 4000ZE devices in a board space that is 36% smaller than previously possible.

With typical standby current as low as 10uA, Lattice’s ispMACH 4000ZE CPLD family is perfect for low-power, high-volume, board-space challenged applications, such as hand-held GPS navigation, video cameras, smart phones, barcode scanners and portable test equipment designs. The ispMACH 4000ZE family is unique among the current generation of CPLD families in offering 5V tolerant I/Os for connecting to TTL and PCI interfaces with no external components, which makes it ideal for connecting to legacy chips and interfaces. The ispMACH 4000ZE family is the best-in-class choice for the hand-held consumer and industrial markets.

Other ultra low power and I/O features include:

  • 1.8V core; low dynamic power
  • Operational down to 1.6V Vcc
  • Per pin pull-up, pull-down or bus keeper control
  • Power Guard feature that allows you to selectively disable unused input pins to save dynamic power
  • Input hysteresis for improved noise immunity for 3.3V and 2.5V inputs

Availability

Both the ispMACH 4064ZE device in the new 64-ball ucBGA package and the ispMACH 4128 device in the new 132-ball ucBGA package are now released for volume production and are immediately available. The rest of the packages in this product family are also shipping in volume. All ispMACH 4000ZE family package options are Pb-free and RoHS compliant.
